Our dock house was built for relaxation and entertaining!
When we purchased our 5.5 acres four years ago, we went right to work making improvements on the land for our future farmhouse.

Interior Elements

Cabinets
Our cabinets were handmade by a carpenter out of poplar. Poplar is a great choice for outdoor cabinetry. Believe it or not, having the cabinets custom built saved us approximately $6,000. We painted them in Benjamin Moore, White Dove, one of my favorite whites. I wanted to adorn them with rustic hardware and I found the perfect knobs, hinges and pulls at Hobby Lobby. They have a wide selection of unique hardware at fantastic prices. Eventually we will add a large stainless under mount sink with a coiled pull down faucet under the window.

Granite
When shopping for granite, beauty and budget were on my mind. I wanted the look of marble with out the hefty marble price tag. I found Light Fantasy Brown, and I love it! The gray and light brown swirls emulate marble and the pattern is beautiful! It was at a great price point too! The dock house required 2 slabs.

Chandelier
I just had to have a gorgeous chandelier hanging in the center! I was so excited to locate this one from Savoy House. It was a challenge locating the perfect chandelier that was not only beautiful but outdoor friendly. I was able to score a deal on this one with an additional coupon. It ended up being $350 shipped! It looks stunning lit at night reflecting on the pond.

Fans
We used Hunter Outdoor Fans from The Home Depot. They are simple with brown blades and rustic bronze body. They compliment the chandelier perfectly.
Walls
To save on our budget, we purchased from The Home Depot sheets of bead board. We wanted the look of shiplap but not the shiplap price. This worked out very well and it created the look we were going for. All the walls were insulated before the bead board was put into place. The walls and trim are painted Benjamin Moore, White Dove.
Ceiling Details
The ceiling is tongue and groove cypress. We used Varathane Wood Stain in Early Americanfrom The Home Depot. This was a job! We used the same carpenter who built our cabinets to finish the ceiling. This turned out beautifully and is a focal point in the space.

Beer Fridge
You can’t have a party dock house without a beer fridge! We purchased this beverage fridge from The Home Depot. The brand is Magic Chef.

Exterior Elements

The lap siding is painted in Benjamin Moore, Storm. The trim work is painted Benjamin Moore, White Dove.
Lantern Light

To bring more character to the exterior, I purchased this lantern light from Shades of Light. It adds the perfect touch.
Molding and Trim Work

The molding and trim work add character and detail to the exterior. All trim work is painted in Benjamin Moore, White Dove.
Our Cedar Alligator

This alligator was hand carved by “George the Carver” here in Vero Beach. He used a piece of cedar harvested from our property. The details are incredible!
Decking
The decking is made from pressure-treated pine. We stained it with PPG Timeless in Naturalpurchased from The Home Depot.
Metal Roof
The metal roof should provide us years of durability. We used galvalume standing seam. Roof was installed by MB Enterprises and Sheet Metal Inc. in Vero Beach, Florida.
