In the early planning stages of our home, I knew I wanted to have wood stained garage doors. Living in Florida, we have to follow strict building codes, so I needed to search for a brand that will not only look gorgeous but be very durable and low maintenance. Raynor garage doors topped my list on every level.
Durability and Insulation
Our home features the Aspen 200 Series. They are extremely strong and durable. Made of steel, these doors will require no maintenance. The Aspen 200 series are 2” thick and features NeuFoam polyurethane insulation that fills 100% of the cavity resulting in a 18.0 R-value. Since garage doors are always opening and closing you need to make sure they have a good R-value to keep energy costs down.
The tracks are constructed from heavy gauge steel for maximum durability and will provide many years of use.
Appearance
Style is often the top priority for most homeowners. Garage doors take up a large portion of a home so you definitely want them to be beautiful. Raynor offers a variety of colors and wood grain finishes, so I was excited to see the options for wood looking doors! We ordered our doors in a Mocha finish. It matched closest to our front door so it was the perfect choice for us. Make sure you consider all other exterior elements before choosing your color or finish.
Finish
Raynor uses a two tone paint technique making it look like authentic oak grain. It’s pretty amazing how much our garage doors look like real wood doors but they are made of steel. Oak woodgrain patterns run vertical between the panels and horizontal with the rails to create a very noticeable true grain appearance.
Design
From the Aspen 200 collection, you have your choice of 8 distinct panel designs. The Recessed Ranch Grooved has the appeal I was looking for. With 8 sections and a shiplap design, it was the perfect choice for our farmhouse.
Magnetic Door Hardware
Raynor makes it so easy to add garage door hardware with magnetic hinges and handles. They look just like metal but are made out of plastic. Talk about instant curb appeal, these really dress up your doors adding more character and richness. Raynor offers different styles to compliment any home style.
